Even the dumbest student in the classroom has words to say.
Look at the people you are surrounded by. Look at the society you live in. But if we look carefully at the life we are living, we are living a life that we have created for ourselves even though it does not happen as planned. What we are not able to distinguish from our life is that we tend to take advice from others who are more successful and wealthier than us, rather than ordinary. When it comes to schooling, there is a huge gap between the smartest kid and the dumbest kid in terms of acceptance of their classmates. Let’s take a vivid example of it. Imagine if you had an exam now, and didn't know the tasks, would you copy answers from the smartest kid or the dumbest kid? Of course, you would choose the former. At least, they are taken much credit.
Stop…, how can I define the smartest and dumbest one? is there any accurate gadget to measure precisely who is superior to others? As a teacher, I don't divide students into the smartest and dumbest categories. It is impossible to make a judgment on their mere performance at school. However, it’s more plausible to criticize them for how much effort they put into schooling. Students can be seen and labeled ingenious on their applications into studying.
The thing is that we need to listen to everyone regardless of their background, reputation and education. You don't know even if the most inexperienced person in a team has the best idea. Listening to every person’s voice in any argument is considered one of the most important skills to have. Your maturity is indicated by how you treat others.
We are biased. We make a decision based on our preference even though we think it is impartial. The best stripe I can make is to embrace myself as who I am today. Even more important, to embrace others as they are and move on. A kid who looks poor, weak, or inferior has an outstanding story to share with the world. Never underestimate them. Let’s be the one who appreciates the value of others and displays the same trustworthiness to everyone.
